LOL Happy Holidays Guildies!
I was deeply saddened this morning at hearing George had passed away yesterday. He has always been a favorite comedian of mine for telling it like it is. The first time I remember hearing George was on the Tonight Show doing his "clean version" of "Stuff". Even at my young age I loved him, my parents not so much at the time. (OMG She can't watch that!) I truly will miss his humor and insight on life's stupidity.
Rest in Peace George.
Below is a piece from George that I received from a friend a little more than a month ago. Peace George.
A Message by George Carlin:
The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.
We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.
We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.
We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things.
We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.
These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete...
Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.
Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.
Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.
Remember, to say, "I love you" to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.
Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.
Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.
AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
If you don't send this to at least 8 people....Who cares?

sniff
Everyone grows up and leaves the nest sometime guess it was just your time.
I've taken it upon myself to start the search for a sister guild that might team up with us for instance runs.
Currently we have gotten off track and things are not going well. I choose to raid and PvP. I'll end up with 2 sets of gear which is just fine. It seems most ppl would prefer that we stay on the raiding path and that is fine. However if we are going to be raiding people are going to need to listen to the requirements of a raid spec. Sorry that is just the way it is. If we were a true raiding guild there would be requirements as well. Think I'm nuts? go try and get into a real raiding guild. Elitism or whatever you want to call it, that's a way of raiding life.
I'll keep you all posted on the search. I will not team with a worthless guild nor will I join forces with one that looks down on us.
My heart is heavy. I'm watching my guild fall.
I thank you both for going to Kara consistently. The first 4 bosses are basically for fun really. I have this desire to off the entire instance just for the same reason. Granted I've gotten some swell (beaver cleaver) gear but I'm diggin PvP atm too. Mantisa will soon be able to rotate in on heals fo sho.
OMG Sorces would so be all over that class! ROFLMAO This had better be a really bad joke on the part of Blizz.
If I wanted to play GH I would go play GH. Yeah some ppl are going to think this is the best thing ever but please! This has got to be the gayest idea yet! What the hell! How does this play into the whole story line anyway? Yeah a Draino Brad that is a total be all end all of everything.
gag
I'd Pwn these noobs. Oh and now a console game based on Molten Core! That's it I'm going to play EQ.
grumble grumble
This made my laugh. Purple Rules!

These are great! I've had the recipe for this for awhile now and have been thinking about making the main version. The mats are something else. Maybe this will be just the push I need. I'm going to have to start rolling on a few things I've passed on before!
Back in the day, when Solidarity was formed, it was out of a need for all of us to stay together after Liege Lords dissolved and we had the same goals as a group (Get the name?). In the past few months we have grown! We have gained many new people looking for that one place they can hang their hat with friends. There are a few that are looking for 70's to run with without the stresses of a full out raiding guild.
In the past few weeks since we started Kara there has been increased stress on all of us. MC, myself and several other officers have had the stress of hearing why can't I go? I need better gear. No one will run me. No one will help me. The role of an officer is not to get you gear or is it to run you through an instance (multiple times), nor is it to make sure you are able to enter an instance. The role of an officer if to HELP WHEN THEY ARE ABLE. Myself and my officers have goals as well. As of late all time has been spent with guildies wanting and needing things. Our own goals have been put on the back burner and the game is no longer a game for us but a job.
The time has come, after much thought, to choose a path for Solidarity. This would not be a permanent change but one to fit the current state of our guild.
Solidarity will become just a casual social guild. NOT a casual raiding guild. Raids will be run but see below for the changes.
Raids will no longer be a guild organized event. What does this mean?
The Guild will no longer be posting up raids or sign ups. If a raid runs it will be because of individual action not that of officers or me as GM. Guildies may use the Raid section on the website to organize runs.
Why?
Easy no more stress. If a guildie wants to run an instance start asking ppl and put your own raid mix together. There is much to be learned by creating your own group. Group dynamic is huge!
Officer Responsibility:
Officers are my right arm. They have more information to share between them than you can even believe. Specs, gear, instances you name it. Officers work to maintain the guild bank balance and to contribute items that might be helpful for guild members or the guild as a whole.
There will still be an officer on call to help with things, keyword here is help. I'm not a tank so I can't be trying to tank stuff. I'm squishy I need heals...lots of heals to support the numbers that fly off the enemies heads. Heavy hitting comes at a cost.
They are here to help you with your questions. If you have issues within the guild, with another player or even an outside guild player they are here for you. IF they are unsure of the right answer they can approach myself and the other officers.
Officers are NOT here to do run throughs for gear.
Will they help you with an instance? Yes IF they are available. Will they leave a group to help you out? NO! Why do I say this? IT HAS HAPPENED! No more.
None of this means the guildies are left in the cold. We still will schedule some guild events, like a run on ZF or a raid on crossroads or some of the other fun all guild stuff we used to do. Group pictures, guild raid on hogger, whatever. What we are saying is step up and take ownership of where you want to go. You want to raid? You want to do an instance? Start asking peeps to go! It is likely that you will find that if you are a helpful, contributing guild member, the whole guild, including the officers, will be more willing to help you when you need it. If you nurture relationships with people, you will certainly find that that kind of thoughtful attention is returned. Start creating the relationships that are needed to make it fun. Don't expect the officers to do it, we may want to depending on the situation, but some of us have already been there and are on to the heroics ATM.
This guild is important to all of us. This is our home, our place to relax and have fun. I want it to return to being a fun place.
In the future as we gain experience and numbers we will be able to venture into raiding as a guild again. Until that time we will hopefully get on a more stress free and casual atmosphere for all players.
OMG Humbah Laughed my ass off! Gee think this was from the personal experiences of ol' Guy Ritchie? LOL
OK we all had the Horrific pants at one time or other! I loved this one!
ZOMG So that is what happened to my brain! Laughed my ass off! Gotta download that one. Umm so will that work on guildies? JK!
Harmony is a musical term and so far Harmony is not a Kara thing. sooo um Lets vote ppl
