Raiding Coordination For Curator

So far we have cleared Curator twice and Illhoof once. I for am damn excited that we are moving along so well, but let's face facts. Neither of these bosses is on farm status yet. We've wiped consistently on curator and illhoof will be more of the same if we dont focusfire the chains with HEAVY dps. With that said Ima post what I think are going to be a sort of marker for our curator and onward teams. Before I start I would say that for curator at least melee dps weakens us significantly, and should not be in larger amounts than one or so until we can get ourselves over-geared for him. Those adds don't go down fast enough, and that is what's costing our healers so much extra mana. Thus I would say the main issue we have is our dps. Ranged Dps should excel with the setup we have been using, and I think that we should plan our groups accordingly. I would say that about 400dps or higher is needed if you want to be in the group as we need enough dps to burn adds down within 10 sec. 400damage x 5 players x 10 sec = 20k damage. That should be more than enough to burn down the adds with enough excess to cover any knockback from damage. Main tank needs to be well over the crit immune mark if they are a warrior or pally as he hits incredibly hard melee and avoidance is KEY for keeping the healers mana up long enough for him to hit enrage. Obviously at the enrage point its even more significant. There is no amount of skill that will consistently get us through him w/o the gear to back it up. We have downed him twice, but we can't look at that and say that we have it figured out because weve also been wiped nine times by my count. We need to all take a step back and realize that if we want to progress past illhoof and move on then we need to start hitting them earlier in the week so that we have more time to try the later stuff. That means that until we can get Curator on farm we have got to bring our best team, with full consumables, and full enchants/gems on their gear. Our team is great, and I'm not trying to be elitist even if I sound that way. I'm trying to emphasize the necessity of accepting the fight for what it is. We are simply too new into kara to take him down every time with w/e group we put together. It is the gear-check of the instance. It is the new moroes/maiden for us. We won't get it on farm soon by not taking it seriously. If I'm coming off as an asshole then I'm sry, but I am the "raid leader" or w/e. Therefore I take our progression very seriously, and I have to acknowledge the hard truth of both sides of the issue. For those of you who havent gotten to come to kara or fit into these standards, then I ask you to read and understand the serious reality of the difficulty of this fight. IT'S NOT A KNOCK ON YOUR UBER MAD 1337 SKILLZZZZ OR YOUR SWEET EPIC "X" ITEM. We all have a determination to see kara and progress and the quickest way for us to get that content available for the masses is to take it seriosly until we can gear past it. I'm talking one or two weeks of serious raiding so we can get past curator, illhoof, shade, and chess event. Thats gonna be about 16 epics for our raiding team which will increase our capability to get ppl into those fights and clearing them to a much higher lvl. We might clear curator by luck and wiping repeatedly each week, we might even manage to finish off illhoof, but in no way, shape, or form are we gonna be able to take shade with our current situation with ppl clamoring to get in on the progression fights that they are not suitably geared for. Shade will lvl us to the floor multiple times over and we will lose all of our momentum, unless we focus on our core group of players gearing themselves up b4 opening up newer content for our rotations. If you don't think I'm being fair I ask you to look at who suggested we rotate ppl in and who sat out this week for all of the first four. I want everybody to participate and enjoy karazhan, but we have to be serious if we want to clear it b4 Lich King comes out. We just started adding in rotations for the first four, let's stick with that for now and let our newer raiders get some more gear through that, while the overgeared wait and focus in on the curator onwards so that we can open up more fights for more players. It's not elitist to want to open up content for more players. Elitism is saying that we don't want to include more players in anything which is entirely the opposite. Those players have to be prepared for that content though and any deficiencies in gear they might have can be more easily overcome if we have more overgeared players available for the fights to help them.

Again I'm extremely sry if this offends you, this is my opinion though and this is the forums. Also, I would again say that I am the only raid leader currently, and I can only do so much to provide for both sides of our guild. We have the casual side, and we have the hardcore side. I'm fine striking our guild down the middle, but everybody has got to be willing to work with me and make some sacrifices if they want our kara group to work. We are going to lose ppl if we don't ever progress, and we are going to lose ppl if we don't ever let them come experience the content. The knowledge for how to most successfully spec and or gear your char to your spec is available on the internet. There is no reason at this lvl of raiding that we shouldnt be able to expect our raiders to know what stats they need and where to get them so if you're not hitting the marks that we need as clearly some ppl arent or I wouldnt have posted then do some research or ASK ME. I will be more than happy to provide research and help where I can to anybody as to how to better gear their spec, but I need everybody to understand that everything I say is advice with the intentiof making us a better raid team. If you don't agree that's fine, but you can't get mad at me for not throwing us to the wolves by allowing you to come on content that youre not suitable for yet. This is a raiding team, not a raiding guild. Our raiding team has made the effort to include newer members of our guild while a second team is formed. That is all I think you can expect of us besides help to get you the knowledge you need to be as well geared and prepared as our older raiders are.
